About Me

Hey everyone, I am Tony (chessfish) and I have been playing tournament chess for over 25 years, which is more than half my life.

Despite countless hours of study over the years, I’ve never been able to achieve that elusive goal of reaching 2000 ELO (US Chess). I achieved a Class ‘A’ rating way back in early 2000, about 9 years after I began my journey. In 2007, I finally reached 1900 ELO. Ten years later, I’m still trying to get those last 100 rating points.

The reason I created this site was to help folks like yourself avoid some of the same mistakes I went through and achieve that elusive goal. To do this, I am going to share my personal experiences with you and what I have discovered over the years through my own “trial and error” experiments.

I also ask that if I ever say anything that captures your interest, that you get involved within my site. I love to talk about chess and life and if you have anything interesting that you want to share or any opinions of any of the content I have created on my site, please do speak up. I love feedback in every form.

If you ever need any feedback or support regarding your games or play, including the psychological aspects of the game, I would be more than happy to connect. Simply leave your comment below and make sure you visit my site regularly as I am always updating it with the crazy “ideas” and “information” that I come across that I know you will find interesting.

Anyways, I wish you all the best with your chess adventures and thank you for dropping by! :)

  1. Hi Tony…
As a non-chess player, I have to say your site still caught my attention and interest!
You have got yourself a niche which I would never have thought would exist!
For all those people who are chess players, it looks like you’ve got everything covered!
Well done and wish you all the best with it…
